Getting Started:

  1. Click on the “Get All Runs” button.
  2. Highlight a run. The application will show you the summary of the run in question.
  3. Click on “Build Report” The application will build a results report based on the app settings and the items listed in the DefaultChartingObjects.xml file.

‘Failed To Parse’ Dialog Box:

When you get all runs, the reporting tool checks the result set to see if there are any runs that did not completely parse when being processed by the Reporting Engine. If it finds any, it will show the following dialog box:

This is not an indication that there is a problem with the results. It simply means that the current version of the reporting engine found something within the results that would cause the engine to fail when building a report. In order to prevent false data, the reporting engine will not try to generate reports about the run(s) in question:

In order to see what runs failed parsing (if any), you can look at the last column in the ‘List of Runs’ datagrid:

  2. Highlight more than one run.
  3. Click on “Scorecard” The application will build a results report based on the app settings and the items listed in the DefaultChartingObjects.xml file as well as the items in the ExtendedSettings.xml file.

Issues

  1. When starting or trying to execute a command, you get an error that the database or a file location cannot be found:
    • Fix 1: Make sure the configuration settings are correct for the connection strings and/or file locations.
    • Fix 2: You may have a stale or older copy of the app.config file in a user directory that is overriding the default settings. Choose the “Update App Config” button from the [Options] tab.
  2. With large test runs, you may get a timeout or incomplete result set
  3. While the default timeouts are large, you may need to increase them.
